The Steps of Learning A New Word

    If you want to learn a new word profoundly in a foreign language, you have to follow five significant steps. The first step is to look at the local dictionary of the foreign language for learning its meaning. However, do not translate the word into your mother tongue on the grounds that every English word can not give the exact meaning. Secondly, check the synonyms and antonyms of the word in order to comprehend and relate to each other effectively. Knowing the synonyms and antonyms of a word facilitates the process of learning. As an illustration, it can be said "totally" in a simple way. Its fundamental synonyms are "completely, entirely, wholly, utterly and so on". Namely,  these words are main keys for learning  a new word. Next search for its origin so as to comprehend the word profoundly. It is absolutely a beneficial step for this on account of the fact that relating to the words through the origin may be a permanent learning way for some people. To demonstrate, it can be handled "destiny" and "destination". It is not a well-known fact that these words have the same origin, which is 'destinare' in Latin, since many people only focus on memorizing the words. However, memorizing is temporary while learning is permanent. In this point, it can be comprehended that knowing the origin of the word can be a beneficial step to learn a new word. After these steps, read some examples related to the word in order to familiarize how it is used in a sentence. If you do it, you will have a notion to use the word at least. Finally, use it in a sentence or even in an essay. The more it is done exercise about it, the more learning the word will facilitate. If you follow these five significant steps in an appropriate way, you can learn new words intensely.

Daphne Tree

According to a legend, one day, while Apollon was walking along the seaside in Thessalia, he saw a girl who was so beautiful and was called Daphne. As soon as he saw, he fell in love with her. Daphne was lively and used to love loneliness. In fact, she had sworn to live alone on the grounds that she hated boys all around the world, and she refused everyone who wanted to get married to her. However,  Apollon was in love with her obsessively. One day, when they encountered to each other, Apollon wanted to talk to her, however, she did not accept and started to run with fear. She had run until she was exhausted. Finally, she fell and begged to mother nature in order to be protected. After just a minute, she started to turn over a tree with eximious smell. When Apollon wanted to embrace the girl whom he loved, he crashed a tree, who was called Daphne tree. After that day, Daphne tree became the tree which Apollon loved.

The Last Supper


     Leonardo da Vinci who was born in 1452 in Italy was a painter, architect and inventor. He did many studies on painting. Since he could not the appropriate face, creating some paintings took long years or he did not finish. One of them is The Last Supper which Leonardo da Vinci painted when he lived in Milan, from 1495 to 1498. It was an oil mural in the past but it changed in time. Every painting depicts something and they give some knowledge about periods which paintings are drawn. In this painting, Jesus Christ's last dinner was depicted before he was crucified. Jesus sits among his Apostles. He says "One of you will betray me" and his Apostles look him with fear. It is believed that some objects symbolize some opinions and this painting has many secrets. The Last Supper is one of the most important artifacts which belong to Leonardo da Vinci and this painting influenced many painters in the past.

The Deepwater Horizon Explosion

       Many countries had some devastating incidents throughout the history. One of these incidents is the Deepwater Horizon explosion which actualized on 20 April 2010 and 11 people died in the explosion. After the explosion, the influences on nature and people gradually started to increase and it is still continuing even today. The barrels of oil spills to the Gulf of Mexico every day. Many animals such as dolphins are killed due to these spills. Most of dolphins get ashored. Moreover, some changes were observed on some newborn dolphins. The researchers consider that the oil spill led to these changes and deaths. To put it briefly, the insufficient precautions did not only damage people, but they also risked to the lives of many animals. Despite the fact that a long time passed, its influences still continue and can not be amended.

The Effects of Conquest of Constantinople

     Imagine that you are in war, scarcity or massacre! What would you feel about it? Many nations had some calamities such as wars, genocides, or illnesses in the world history. Most of them influenced the majority of the world. One of them was a war which led to the Conquest of Constantinople. It had many effects for the world ,but only two effects will be emphasized in this essay.
 
    The first effect is that the Middle Ages finished and the New Ages started. Many regions ,especially Europe, had many problems in the Middle Ages. As an illustration, it can be said slavery, class distinction, and the church. The dogmatic concepts of the church ruined many lives. Finally, the church lost their esteem due to some terrible incidents such as excommunication or selling field from the heaven. The opening of the New Age contributed to that advancement.

     Another effect is the ending of East Rome Empire. East Rome Empire, which is generally called Byzantium, had reigned in Constantinople for long years. Many politicians tried to conquer Constantinople. However, except for Mehmet II,  all of them failed. The ending of East Rome Empire created a marvellous echo. The system of the world totally changed.

     To put it briefly, many countries had some incidents. However, some of them such as the Conquest of Constantinople influenced the whole world, and two of the main effects which were opening New Age and the end of East Rome Empire were discussed in this essay.
